Jessica Lea Mayfield, Sun Seeker

Saturday, February 3, 2018, 9:00 PM

She's country. She's indie rock. She's folk. She's soul. She's all of them and none of them. Jessica Lea Mayfield's sweet sound has been at once haunting and soothing, a blend of different styles that she dubs "alt. music." Her 2015 album of Elliott Smith Covers, performed with Seth Avett, won praise from NPR's Bob Boilen. She came to wide public notice in 2007, when she was heard singing "Things Ain't Like They Used to Be." on The Black Keys' album "Attack and Release." She has also recorded a grunge-alternative rock album, "Make My Head Sing," which came out in 2014.
