Join us at this year’s South Asian Professional Women Networking (SAPWN, pronounced like dream in Hindi as sapan) event to hear from some of our new startup entrepreneurs and some seasoned business women on how to start a business or keep it going. A lot of us feel that we could be entrepreneurs, but we struggle to understand the basics of how to start one. Our panelists will take you through their journey of how they started their own business career, made it a success and answer any questions you will have. Come, get inspired by these passionate women and a find a path to your own freelancing career. They will share their stories, of success and challenges they faced in running their business. There will be a networking opportunity in the beginning, bring your business cards, Q and A session at the end of the program with the attendees. SAPWN: You can do it too! Agenda: 4:00- 4:15 pm– Networking 4:15- 5:00 pm– Presentation by the panelists 5:00- 5:45 pm– Q&A and interactive networking This year’s SAPWN panelists are: Akhila is the co-founder and CTO at Xemelgo, a startup focused on empowering manufacturers with the latest and greatest in Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence technologies. Akhila grew up in a Industrial town in India where her dad worked for India’s biggest power generation company. Visiting the plant floor as a kid stoked her passion for engineering and she is excited to apply her years of experience in software engineering back where she started off. Before entering the start-up scene, Akhila led multiple engineering teams, most recently as Director of Engineering at Hitachi. She is passionate about building teams and mentoring people, especially women, to achieve their true potential. She started her journey in Toronto, was introduced to her husband, who lived in Seattle, got married and moved to Seattle in 2008 where she is continuing her journey both personally and professionally.
