De-Escalation Training: For Frontline Service Provider (Nov 8 - Snohomish County)
De-escalating Self and Others This outstanding 4-hour course has a research-based foundation and trains in situational/social/self-awareness and interaction abilities. You are given the knowledge to enter into any encounter successfully, engage strangers productively and safely, adapt and recover to a given behavior, and disengage effectively. The foundational competencies adopted directly from the Tactical Social Interaction® course has demonstrated to enhance the ability to adapt to and navigate culturally diverse environments, as well as complex social situations while maintaining strong environmental awareness. During this course, I2S places stranger encounters in a context that allows for simple steps - from the planning, encounter/engagement, and disengagement. The competencies enhance self-awareness, analytical ability, situational awareness, and interactive and de-escalation skill. Desired Outcomes: Consistent use of the Tactical Social Interaction® competencies De-escalation knowledge and skills Self-awareness Situational awareness - Staying left of the incident Emotional and Cultural Intelligence Interactive Adaptation Leadership and Confidence Note: There are two 4-hour classes scheduled on the same day. You have the opportunity to register for a morning class or an afternoon class.
