Men of Change: Power. Triumph. Truth.
Have you seen them? They are bold, powerful, tragic, beautiful, and true. Through story and dynamic, original contemporary art, Men of Change shares the inspiring lives of over two dozen African American men who have changed the course of our nation. These men, known and unknown, past and present, are leaders and icons whose significant contributions have often been rendered invisible by a country, yet have been uplifted by a culture. This new exhibition from the Smithsonian Institute Traveling Exhibition Service opens at the History Museum on December 21, 2019 and will be on view through March 15, 2020. Storytellers, myth-breakers, fathers, community-makers, imaginative visionaries, and catalysts, see Men of Change and #KnowTheseNames.
