These are the two classes listed under Personal Finance:The MGMT 180 -Finance-Money ManagementApply financial skills to managing money at school, home and work, covering financial terms and concepts like debt, ROI, budgeting, and forecasting using financial statements. The ACCT 101-Accounting FundamentalsBeginning accounting fundamentals including journalizing, posting, financial statements and computer applications. We are very different from this class in several ways. We go beyond financial terms, concepts, how to manage money on paper, journaling and computer applications. We prepare them for the next couple years and beyond with real life money issues that they will face now like credit scores, credit cards, student/car loans, reading a paycheck, how to get an apartment reading their bank statement, types of insurance (Health, Life, House, Disability, Car, etc.), Roth vs. IRA tax distributitions, balancing utilities and other expenses, etc. We build a strong financial foundation. We involve students with real life hands on activities which include earning paychecks, paying bills, demonstrations, activity based learned, discussions and more. Most importantly students learn from their choices in the classroom and are able to adjust according to their goals. They learn from their choices in our classroom and enhance their knowledge by doing and demonstrating. This is not a paper and pencil class or future asset allocation class. This is a Nationally Recognized Class series which has shown proven results for over 10 years. *Parents and Families are invited into our last class May 11th from 3-3:30pm.
