Pokey LaFarge (solo), Jack Klatt

Sunday, September 22, 2019, 2:30 AM

9/21: Pokey LaFarge (solo), Jack Klatt POKEY LAFARGE: http://pokeylafarge.net/ “Each chord, each riff shades the stories he sets up in his lyrics, always in search of the purest truth within the 10 forlorn, haunting melodies on Manic Revelations. A musician, a storyteller, a narrator of the messy, unkempt American experience…Pokey LaFarge sits, he watches, he writes. Everything that’s worth happening happens in his songs,” --KCMP’s The Current JACK KLATT: https://www.jackklatt.com/ "Part balladeer and part bluesman, Jack is a dedicated songwriter and finger-style guitarist based in Minneapolis, MN. His sound pulls from a wide range of American music. From Rhythm and Blues and early Rock N’ Roll, to country and folk music, Jack brings his own voice to all of his songs. In the words of Americana Roots UK “Jack doesn’t rely on other writers for his diversity, he can write in pretty much any musical style of his choosing.” He’s won recognition from the MN state arts board, recorded alongside “Spider” John Koerner, and made it onto Daytrotter’s list of best songs in 2014. His 2016 release Shadows in the Sunset has been praised as “an eminently satisfying, slow rolling, Country/Blues album” by No Depression and made it onto Saving Country Music’s list of 2016 essential albums." -Artist Bio @ Ballard Homestead7:30p show, 7p doors All ages, seated MORE EVENT INFO: - Seating is not reserved unless noted in ticket price options.  - We have a mix of padded chairs and benches available.- We are an all ages venue. - Attendees are welcome to bring quiet, not too smelly food unless noted. - Please refrain from talking or texting during the show.- Please enter quietly if the show has already begun. - Please leave quietly, it's a very quiet neighborhood.- Kids 10 & under are free at Abbey Arts concerts & arts events unless noted. - For ADA information at Ballard Homestead, please see www.ballardhomestead.org/rent or email arts(at)fremontabbey.org  There is a ramp around back on the south side of the Homestead for wheelchair access.
