The pedal steel, the fiddle, the hush of a song sung from the heart--the world of American roots music is no stranger to Seattle songwriter Sera Cahoone. Growing up, Cahoone's father, a Rocky Mountain dynamite salesman, took the family to mining conferences at old honky-tonks. The sounds she heard there--the twang of country crooners, cowboy boots on peanut shells-- continue to influence her songwriting today.
