Voices of Pacific Island Nations: the Samoan Ava Ceremony

The Fetu Ta'iala Project and Kitsap Regional Library present an opportunity for you and your families to experience traditional and current Samoan culture:
Hear the ukulele and the song of blessing
View artifacts and historical photos
Learn the history and purpose of the Ava Ceremony as practiced in Samoa. Experience a modified version of this traditional ceremony that welcomes "off islanders" to the community.
Dance the Fa'aluma  and Taualuga with members of our local Pacific Islander Community
This is a time to learn more about the cultural heritage and contemporary experiences of our neighbors and friends.
